PROGRAM GUIDE Spring II: April 25-June 12 YMCA OF FREDERICK COUNTY Downtown Y | South County Family YLEARN MORE ABOUT DONATING To learn more about how you can support our initiatives regarding the Annual Campaign, Endowment, or Capital Campaign contact Tom Clingman, VP of Social Responsibility, at 301-663-5131 ext.1230 or tclingman@frederickymca.org. WELCOME TO THE YMCA OF FREDERICK COUNTY OUR MISSION: To put Judeo-Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all. At the YMCA of Frederick County, strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility is our cause and vision. The Y is the largest childcare provider in Frederick County and, as a movement, the Y is the largest childcare provider in the nation. We provide a wide range of fitness classes and sports activities. In many places, the Y is known as a place to go swimming but it is much more than that- it’s a place that changes lives. Our open doors philosophy welcomes all those who wish to enter: we provide financial assistance to 600-plus families in Frederick County through Y-subsidized scholarships. ANNUAL CAMPAIGN The Annual Campaign provides an extraordinary opportunity to ensure a brighter future for our community. Your gift to the YMCA of Frederick County will have lasting impact in the community by helping us to reach more people through life-changing programs and services like: • Before and After School Childcare • Early Learning Centers • Summer Camp • Swim Lessons • Teen Leaders Club • Youth Sports • And many more programs The Annual Campaign is volunteer led and staff supported. Ask any staff member how you can get involved. BECOME AN IMPACT MEMBER Y Impact Members contribute a monthly, recurring tax-deductible donation of $25. That $25 a month helps assure the continuation of vitally important Y work, including food distribution across the region, mentoring youth, and financial assistance for thousands of low-income families who need us to keep their kids positively engaged in supportive and safe Y programs. See page 5 for more info. ENDOWMENT FUND The Heritage Club and Legacy Society encourages thoughtful gifts from donors as a primary means of building a strong endowment capable of providing financial support for the YMCA of Frederick County in perpetuity. Individuals who have made a meaningful gift or pledge of at least $10,000 to the YMCA Endowment Fund are recognized for their generosity through membership in the Heritage Club. Individuals who indicate that they have left a gift to the Y in their wills are recognized as members of the Legacy Society. CAPITAL CAMPAIGN The goal of the YMCA of Frederick County is to meet the needs of everyone in Frederick County. Toward that end, the planned South County Family YMCA will serve youth, families, and seniors in the fastest growing part of our service area. Please consider a gift to make this new Y a reality. For more information please visit www.diveinymca.org. 600+ families in Frederick County receive financial assistance through Y-subsidized scholarships.
